Kia ora koutou

We’re well and truly into the second half of the term now, how time flies! Last week we had Northern Athletics. I was truly proud of our students who went down to NSC to compete, they had amazing attitudes and were able to demonstrate kindness and sportsmanship. Awesome! A few of them have made it through to Southland Athletics which will be held in Invercargill, Saturday 27 March.

Now that the end of athletics is almost in sight we’re almost ready to turn our attention to cross country. The competition against other schools was cancelled last year so it will be good to have the opportunity this time around. At this stage we’re looking at a date in early term two, we’ll let you know exactly when as soon as we can.

We’ve had a special visitor with us this week. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Harrold and Teresa from the Life Education Trust were with us. All of the classes had two sessions with them in their mobile classroom. This is always popular with our students and we’re lucky to have the support of the trust annually. We look forward to seeing them again next year.

Tomorrow is the autumn equinox. Along with the mornings and evenings being a little darker there has also been a noticeable change in temperature. This has brought with it a few coughs and colds. It is important that children who are unwell remain at home. We do appreciate your support with this.

Have a nice weekend everyone.
