Newsletter 2 - February 12th 2021

Kia ora koutou

Another short week but I’m pretty sure that our staff and students have managed to cram five days worth of learning into 4, it’s been full-on here this week for sure.

It’s always a busy time at the start of the year and this year is no exception. Next Thursday we have our Meet and Greet. This is a great chance to meet and talk informally with your child's teacher and other people from within our school community. There will be some games on the field run by our student leaders...and probably some energetic adults. You are welcome to bring a picnic tea or grab a sausage from the BBQ (GF and Vegan options). It was a great event last time around, low key and relaxed. I’m looking forward to seeing you there.

Information and the opportunity to book in for a Learning Hui with your child’s class teacher will be coming home early next week. These meetings will take place on 23 and 24 of March. We usually have a good turnout at these meetings and they are important so please book a time. Last year we had these after our term 2 and 4 reports went out. This year we are changing the schedule a bit so these more formal meetings will be in term 1 and 3.

With Covid-19 making an unwelcome return in the community recently I would ask each of you to make sure you are scanning the QR codes everywhere you go. We have QR codes in our main entrances and in the window of Room 1. If you do come onto our grounds we expect you to scan or come to the office to sign in. If your child is unwell please keep them at home and call the school to let us know. Your assistance with this is appreciated.

Just a reminder too that school begins at 9:00 each day and that children are not to be here before 8:30. Before that time, we are unable to provide suitable supervision for them.

Have a wonderful weekend. It looks as though summer is going to visit for a couple of days, I hope you get to enjoy it.
