Kia ora

Today at 2:00 we have the official opening of our new learning spaces. There will be some short formalities, including our students doing some kapa haka, before parents and members of the community can have a look around to see what’s been going on. We’re extremely proud of our school and it’s a good chance to show it off so come along and have a look. If you don’t get the chance to have a look today, please come another time, I’d be happy to show you around.

We have some really exciting news. From Monday 3 August we will have an additional class. Georgina Dobson will begin teaching in Room 3 with our Year 3 students who are moving through from Mrs McMillan’s class which will become a Year 1 and 2 classroom. We have had many new enrollments during the year in the junior part of the school so a new class is being established to keep class sizes low. This will enable our students to have the best possible start to their time here at school.

The cross country is just under a week away with a start time of 11:30 next Thursday. Students have been getting out around the course for a bit of training. It is a lti lap race for our seniors so lots of good cheering opportunities for anyone wanting to come along to support.

Lots of students have been working hard on their speeches. Class speeches will take place next week with the finals being shared with the school next Friday at 12:00. We have some guest judges coming along and from what I’ve heard so far, their job is going to be even more challenging this year than it was last!

Have a great weekend everyone, see you next week.

Ka kite ano,

Callum Tytler

Acting Principal
